Welcome to the Central Arkansas Swim League

Welcome to the Central Arkansas Swim League (CASL). We are a league of 8 summer league swim teams including over 750 swimmers from Central Arkansas. For over 25 years CASL has existed to promote friendly competition between our member teams in a family atmosphere that promotes individual and team competition and sportsmanship. The key to the success of our league is the participation of every family helping run swim meets and assist in the development of their respective clubs. If this is your first year in the league, I encourage you to volunteer with the Parent Representative of your club to help meet the many needs of running your team.

Dual swim meets are held on Saturday mornings from mid June until late July. Swim meets are not held during the July 4th holiday weekend. Each swim meet will start promptly at 8 am and swimmers are encouraged to arrive by 7:15am for warm up. Team scores are kept at each meet and a league champion will be crowned at the Meet of Champs based on dual meet records.

All swimmers are divided into Bronze, Silver or Gold divisions in each event based on their best time in the respective event. The time standards for each division appear elsewhere on this website. New swimmers without previous times will start the season in the Bronze division. Returning swimmers will begin the season with their best time from last season. By competing and improving their times at weekly dual meets a swimmer can move from Bronze to Silver to Gold. This three division system allows more opportunities for personal achievement and recognition.

The final swim meet of the summer is the Meet of Champs held at the Donaghey Center pool at UALR. To qualify to swim an event at the Meet of Champs, a swimmer must have achieved a Silver or Gold time or be ranked among the fastest eight Bronze swimmers in the league for that event. Only times achieved during the current season are eligible. A ranking of Bronze swimmers will be posted on the CASL website during the course of the season so that a swimmer can chart their progress toward qualifying for Meet of Champs.

Good luck this summer and please remember parent volunteerism is the key to a successful swim season. Support your team and CASL by helping at swim meets, supporting your team’s coach and encouraging your children to work hard and practice good sportsmanship.
